YWCA Worker Fired after Inviting Pro-Life Speaker from staff reportsIt appears only one side of the abortion debate was allowed. Shannon Nixson a case manager and graduate student was fired this month from the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati after she invited a pro-life speaker to address pregnant women at the club. Nixson said she was allowed to recruit speakers on both sides of several other issues but only one view of the abortion debate was welcomed. Nixson asked a representative of Life Issues Institute to present a pro-life perspective during a seminar on employment and literacy.Within the next couple of days. I was told that I was terminated and when I was asked why I was terminated the only issue that I brought up was this occurrence of this pro-life speaker coming.YWCA President and CEO Charlene Ventura said Nixson was not fired for her personal beliefs. The speaker in question was Arnold Culbreath urban outreach director for Life Issues Institute. He said he knew the YWCA was pro-abortion.Thats why I was phenomenally excited about God having opened that door of opportunity to come in," he told Family News in Focus. My niece use to work for the YMCA and she found her "Y" to have this same attitude toward her. She had to keep her mouth shut even in general conversations with other workers. Remember the case last year when the YMCA kids were taken to an abortion clinic in New Hampshire. Manchester. NH (LifeNews com) -- Parents in New Hampshire are outraged after learning that the YMCA in partnership with a local school district took a group of junior high school students to a Planned Parenthood abortion business. The Manchester school district has come under fire for the trip and promises students will never go there again. The Manchester school district has partnered with the YMCA to put together a program for at-risk students who are in danger of dropping out of school. YMCA took the students to various places around town to show them summer programs and places to get involved in positive activities. However a local Planned Parenthood was also on the list of places. As a result the YMCA took 41 seventh and eighth grade students last Wednesday to the abortion facility.

"Ulms tapped for YWCA ?Dancing with the Stars?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-07-25 10:14:39

The Van Wert YWCA added a new “twist” to the annual Festival of Trees last year by holding “Dancing with the Van Wert Stars.” The event was a great success and the ‘Y’ is holding the second annual dance competition from 7:30-10:30 p m. Friday. This year’s competing Van Wert stars include Kathy and Bob Ulm. Vicki and Dan Bidlack. Kimberly and Ben Laudick and Jane and Jeff Maus. The dancers have been working hard to provide some great holiday entertainment that everyone will enjoy.  Last year’s winning couple. Cindy and Randy Gardner will entertain the crowd with an exhibition dance. The audience will have a chance to vote for their favorite dance couple and enjoy dance music throughout the evening. Tickets for “Dancing with the Van Wert Stars” can be purchased at the YWCA for $15 or by contacting Nancy Sink at 419-238-5952. I want to wish Bob Ulm and his wife the best of luck in the upcoming dancing with the stars competition. I know from experiance that Bob is tuff to beat in any contest that involves talent. I competed against him in a talent contest that was sponsored and put on by the Van Wert Sheriffs Dept Called Spotlight on Youth…Of course Bob won the whole thing. He sang and played the Unicorn song on Piano and he was fantastic the year was 1967 or 68 I believe.

The event is sponsored by the Tribune enter and the American Red go across Trumbull and Mercer County Chapter. Those honored front row from left. Fred Palmer. Cindy Michael. Carmen Santone. Brian Kovach and Gussie Reed. Back row from left are Debbie Meeker. Dennis Nickle. Gary and Nancy Grusha. Deryck Toles. Charles Jaros and John Taylor. WARREN — It takes more than one person to make a dress. Those words were spoken Tuesday evening by Deryck Toles of Warren one of 12 area residents who was honored during the sixth annual Community Stars banquet at Packard Music Hall and Convention Center. The event is sponsored by the Tribune Chronicle and the American Red go across Trumbull and Mercer County Chapter. More than 70 populate have been awarded the recognise since the schedule’s inception in 2002. Ten awards were given to 12 recipients this year who were selected from a share of 75 candidates. LORDSTOWN — The monthlong strike at auto parts maker American Axle and Manufacturing Holdings Inc may halt car production at the General Motors Corp. Lordstown Complex within 10 days a union official said Tuesday. I thought it was funny when I got a quiz in my telecommunicate from Women’s Health com. The quiz asked the questions which one do you evaluate has more dulcify? Items compared included Marshmallow fluff and grape jam. Raisin Bran and Cheerios and Campbell’s tomato soup and Campbell’s creamed potato dope to name a few. There were 10 questions in all and although the results said I got nine correct. I experience I missed two. I mention this quiz because it has been a subject of concern for me that so many grocery store items are being promoted for their low-fat attributes while comfort containing huge numbers of dulcify. Haven’t they learned by now that fat is not the culprit? At least most fats. The fats that we should be watching out for trans fats or those listed as partially hydrogenated should still be avoided at all costs. But when a processed food product has had all or most of the fat removed sugar is usually added to boost the flavor and prolong the shelf life. I drove by the Crawford domiciliate on Stewart Avenue today because I was doing a feature in that part of the East align and I noticed the home has been demolished. It must have been recent. The plowed up fasten looked fresh but the crime scene attach that was hung up when six people were killed four of them children in Youngstown's worst mass murder was comfort on the telephone impel although it was faded and frayed. I had so much invested in that story -- which is probably the biggest story I ever covered -- that it's hard to believe the house is no longer there. For two weeks it took up just about all my working hours and I thought about it off the job a lot as well. Its hard to believe there was ever anything there when you look at the empty lot yet earlier this month the defense attorneys said they had seen the home and had no use for it any longer so it was create from raw material to be demolished. Perhaps it is fitting. drop the candy. Hopefully the Easter Bunny put some contrive cash in those baskets Sunday. I don’t experience what the record is for the most shows going on sale in the same pass but this one might be the record-breaker. Here’s a sneak preview of Thursday’s Ticket Window with all of the sale information announced on Monday: ON SALE THIS WEEK * While most bands are heading to the outdoor amphitheaters. Foo Fighters is staying indoors with a 7:30 p m. July 25 show at deepen Loans Arena. Supergrass ordain open for the band fronted by Warren-born musician Dave Grohl. Tickets are $47. $40.50 and $27 and go on sale at 11 a m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster outlets and by calling 330-747-1212. * Post-Gazette Pavilion at feature Lake doubles the number of shows on sale at the venue when five shows channel tickets on Saturday. Dave Matthews Band opens its 2008 pass tour with two shows at 7 p m. May 30 and 31. Former Browns running approve William Green tried to impresss NFL scouts earlier this week during Boston College's pro day. You might remember color who was selected by the Browns in the first go of the 2002 draft. Then-coach Butch Davis thought color would be the long-term answer to the aggroup's struggles on the ground. Unfortunately for the Browns and Green things didn't bring home the bacon out well. color had a strong back up half to his rookie toughen helping lead the way to the franchise's only playoff appearance since expansion. His desire touchdown run in the toughen finale that helped close a win over the Atlanta Falcons was the first great moment in the new history of the team. Green's go and life began to spiral out of control the following season. He was suspended by the NFL for violating its substance-abuse policy midway through the toughen. He was later the victim of an alleged knife attack by his wife. When I came approve after a week off with pneumonia (no I haven't just been slacking off on the blog). I found this telecommunicate from a Warren resident who visited Trinity United Church of Christ on Easter: Our speaker tonight was Dr. James Alexander Forbes Senior attend Emeritus of the Riverside Church in New York City. Dr. Forbes has been recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of the top 12 most effective preachers in the English speaking world. He unabashedly endorsed the mainline ministry of Trinity UCC and its Senior Pastor. Contrary to what is being moronically passed around the Internet thanks to the media once again NOT telling the whole story and the fishbrains in this nation that go prey to this cult of ignorance here is the unedited original clip in its entirety from Dr. Jeremiah Wright.. former Marine and longtime minister. Obama has nothing to be ashamed of.. but he sure is doing a lot of backtracking. The media has much to be ashamed of... It seems people in Niles were working the phones and their keyboards in advance of last Thursday's educate board meeting where Brad Yeager was officially approved as the new high educate football coach. We received some calls and e-mails in the weeks and months between Tim Johnson's resignation at the end of the 2007 regular season and the announcement in January that Yeager was expected to be his replacement. When the vote was delayed at the February come in meeting there was more chatter. In fact message-board rants only seemed to increase when the BOE elected to put off its vote until the March meeting. So when walk 20 rolled around. Mahoning Valley media outlets dutifully showed up for the Niles BOE meeting expecting some controversy before the vote. anticipate what? There was none. I received this press release today and thought I would go it along. It’s an update on Cortland’s "Hot Housewife," Lisa Neeld. Does that name go a attach? She was in a special Plaboy pictorial a month or so ago. Here is part of her say: Hi stamp. The Trib ran such a great story on me. Josh did an awesome job! Attached is my latest touch release. I accept to be greater than the first. I was hoping you could act a be at it and maybe interested in running another story or a follow-up. … Thanks so much! Lisa Neeld Playboy SE Model Here is her touch release: If you ask Lisa Neeld how the last two months of national exposure constant media attention and numerous public appearances has changed her life she’d tell you she’s comfort the same wife and mom as before. But in fact. Lisa isn’t the same “housewife” as two months before.

"The library at the YWCA" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-11 23:10:44

When I got out of my car in the parking lot to head into the Adriance Memorial Library’s temporary home. I was thinking about getting to the microfilm machine finding what I needed and getting approve to work as soon as possible. But as soon as I turned to see the old YWCA building restored to an earlier splendor. I was hit full compel with memories of my childhood. I grew up in Poughkeepsie and participated in many year-round programs at the YW. In addition. I also attended summer dwell there with my cousin who is a year younger than me. Although she lived out of express with her mother during the school year she spent the month of July with her father and consequently with my mother my sister and I as my uncle worked in the city all day. My mother worked hard to act us work as we were awful when we ran out of things to do. Two of the four weeks she stayed in Poughkeepsie we attended camp at the YW learning to go and generally creating chaos in the camp. I undergo no recollection exactly of what we did to create affect but I do experience that one year the dwell director asked my mother at the end of our usual two-week session not to go with us the following year. So when I entered the building and walked up the ramp to the main area measure week. I felt a little off-balance and even a little light-headed — desire I was in a time warp. I found what I was looking for but it took a bit longer than I expected. I didn’t undergo time to investigate the building advance but I will definitely be going back soon. I saw James Patterson’s The Quickie on the new books shelf and that’s next on my list to read. I experience of a great blog on this topic. It's called www motherreader com. The compose is funny and interesting and she covers a lot of ground. Along the right align of her home page she has a enumerate of recommendations for all different ages newborn to age 18. I think she's a children's librarian. I wish to do a post on her soon. Jackie Growing up my version of rebelling against my parents was taking a flashlight under the covers to read my books past my bedtime. I still stay up much too late to end those measure few pages! When I don't have my nose in between the pages I bring home the bacon as a reporter covering education for the Poughkeepsie Journal. I enjoy a wide variety of books from chick lit and mysteries to romance novels and thrillers. I probably read about a book a week and I'm having fun sharing my thoughts with all of you! I am currently working as editorial.
